The
Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture launched a
scheme to develop Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure by
inducement of private and cooperative sector investments;
strengthen existing agricultural marketing infrastructure;
promote direct marketing; provide and promote
infrastructure facilities for grading, standardization;
promotion of pledge financing and marketing credit;
introduction of negotiable warehousing receipt system; and
promotion of forward and future markets so as to stabilize
market system and increase farmers' income. To make this
scheme a success, the National Institute of Agricultural
Marketing, Jaipur, has been assigned the task of
publicity, awareness and training of the Scheme.
In the
Capital Investment Subsidy for Development/ Strengthening
of Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure, Grading &
Standardization scheme, stakeholders were identified and
work for publicity, awareness and training initiated.
